12 string version of Guild's famous D-25 line of guitars. Solid spruce top and solid mahogany sides, with the more desirable arched back. Production date by serial number 1988/1989. (D2506XX) Made in Guild's Westerly, Rhode Island factory, not that there is anything wrong with Tacoma or New Hartford Guilds.
No wood cracks and no finish checking either. Some small dings here and there, and a small patch of troubled nitro finish on the bottom edge. (Shown in photo -- classic 1980's PVC strap issue.) I had never noticed that until I took pictures for this ad. I have given it a recent professional setup and had the gorgeous bridge reglued. It is very easy to play, and has a remarkably tall saddle for a 37 year old guitar. You're not going to need a neck reset for a long, long time.
I do believe the D25-12 is the model Guild Tom Petty played, and this one has the classic chiming Guild sound in spades.
Has an active pickup that probably dates to the 1980s, and my many attempts to specifically identify it have failed. It takes a 9 volt battery and has the 1/4" jack for a strap button. It sounds excellent through an acoustic guitar amp.
Comes with an aftermarket hard case I bought for it and, if you want it, you can have the heavy duty gig bag I got with it.
Guitar is located in the middle of Whidbey Island. I am often in Oak Harbor, Mukilteo, Bellevue, Anacortes, and Burlington.
No trades. If your response doesn't show something specific about your interest (i.e., no "about your item," etc.) I'll ignore you. If you give me a phone number, I'll call. I'm not terribly interested in endless back and forth emails about it.
