Evergreen Recovery Centers is a growing, progressive nonprofit in Western Washington that employs 200 staff and serves over 7,000 individuals a year. It is a NIDA research organization, a popular training site and is internationally accredited by CARF. With recovery services between Mount Vernon and Tacoma, it is the largest provider of addiction treatment in Northwest Washington with a focus on customer service and high quality treatment.
We are seeking a qualified, compassionate, caring, non-judgmental individual with a positive attitude and a desire to make a difference to join our team as a Chemical Dependency Counselor (CDP) at our Men's Residential facility in Mount Vernon.
The Residential Counselors' primary role is to provide counseling and case management for chemically dependent men, some with mental health disorders, in an intensive inpatient, long-term residential treatment program.
You will provide chemical dependency counseling, conduct group meetings, individual counseling, complete and review assessments, coordinate chemical dependency education sessions and provide case management services. Will collaborate with staff and outside health care providers to create a treatment plan that addresses ancillary needs and/or co-occurring mental disorders as well as appropriate family counseling. Must possess the ability to deal assertively and effectively with patient conflicts and conduct verbal de-escalation intervention. Maintain professional boundaries and set a positive example of behaviors for patients.
• Washington State Department of Health certification as a Chemical Dependency Professional (CDP)
• At least one year of experience as a Chemical Dependency Professional
• AA degree in chemical dependency studies or related human service, with BA preferred
• Maintain a valid Washington State Driver's License, acceptable driving record and be able to operate a company vehicle without restriction.
