We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated assistant to join our team! This role is essential in providing a safe, nurturing and educational environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a strong understanding of child development. This is a great opportunity for a college student working towards their ECE Certificate or Degree.
You will work closely with children by assisting in their daily activities and fostering growth through engaging developmentally appropriate practices.
Job Duties may include but are not limited to:
Assist lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities
Supervise children during playtime, ensuring safety and encouraging positive interactions
Provide care for infants including feeding, diapering and comforting as needed
Support children with special needs or disabilities by applying behavior management techniques and individualized support strategies
Communicating effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and any concerns
Participate in classroom management to create a positive atmosphere
Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance skills in early childhood education
Job Requirements:
Experience working with children in a daycare or preschool setting
Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices
Experience with special education or working with individuals with disabilities is a plus
Strong classroom management skills
Ability to maintain a learning and nurturing environment for children from ages 0-12 years old
STARS Certification, CPR & First Aid, Safe Sleep training or the ability to obtain these within 30
days of hire
TB test prior to first day is required
Must pass a federal background check
Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with children, other staff, parents and guardians
Most important- A genuine love for working with young children and supporting their growth and development
