Here we have an excellent example of microwave history with this extremely rare unit from about 1976. Made in Japan, this was one of the first countertop microwaves available and was distributed by J.C. Penny Co. Inc. Very simple in function:
1) Set timer to desired length of time.
2) Press white button to engage microtron.
3) Take cover! (😆) (I haven't checked with an EMF meter so.....should be as "good" as it was when new)
I knew the folks that originally bought this and they never used it much. Probably never got moved when the property and house was sold (to my wife and I) due to the fact that it weighs a LOT!(Like 80 + lbs. at least!) With a good cleaning, this thing should look like new!
This thing even pre-dates the vintage example they have in the Smithsonian !
Works as it should, 600watt output. I heat my coffee up in it once in a while, so I know it works just fine.
Don't hesitate to make an offer!
Great piece for that 70s retro kitchen remodel!
