1969 PEARSON COASTER
This is not your average old sailboat. It is on a VERY stout 3 axle trailer. 6 new tires and wheels. $2000 at Les Schaub.. 2 year old trailer battery.. pintel hitch included. No storage fees in the winter. I have owned this boat since 2000. We used it a lot. It was moored 5 years straight before we pulled it out of the water. 3 small blisters. Pearson had this issue figured out. There is no chopper under the gell coat. A very stout well made hull. Probably better than most new boats. No soft spots on deck or cabin. The interior is special. Very rare to see woodwork like this in a new or old boat. I cut the stern out to make a "sugar scoop". It makes getting out of the dingy easy. It has a vented propane locker and 2 in date tanks. An adapted 2 burner stove that does a better job than any marine stove I have seen. The galley has a Corian counter top and a nice stainless sink. A unique faucet. A soap dispenser. A salterwater faucet. All pressurized. The freshwater has a pressure tank so the pump runs very little. A 5 gallon hot water tank that is heated by the engine. 200 degrees ouch! Or 110 volts. The cooler has been cut in half. It is well insulated and will keep a block of ice for 4 plus days. Drains to bilge. A really nice set of pots and pans and dishes. The vee berth floor has been dropped a foot. No more banging your head. The toilet was just overhauled and flushes as new. A gusher pump for pumping overboard, eh. The floor has a nice grate over a glassed in shower pan with its own bilge pump and thru hull. The toilet is hard plumbed, no smelly flex hose. The main cabin bulkhead is very well done with a full bookcase and desk. The doors and drawer fronts are vertical grain cherry with sugar maple edges. Butterflys are inlaid wood of about 15 species. The floor and engine cover is real solid wood, not this paper thin veneer on modern boats. It has 2 quarter berths which we use for storage. A marine am fm with speakers in the cabin and cockpit. Vhf, furano radar, auto pilot. The anometer went out decades ago and the depth sounder last week. Anchors are about a 35 lb plow on the bow with about a hundred feet of chain and a lot of line. The anchor locker is glassed in and vented over the side, no more more mud in the bilge. Stern anchor is a large Danforth and at least a hundred feet of line. The bilge pump is 2000 gallons an hour. Most interior lights are led. The head sail is roller furling. Works well. About 150%. A handed on jib that is good but stained. Chrisp main, loose footed. A like new colorful geniker. 2 spinaker poles.. All lines to cockpit. Large 2 speed winches on new winch boards. More winches in spares along with a ton of stuff. Campbell sailor prop with new zinc.. carbon shaft seal so no leaks.. Atomic 4 engine. New starter. Almost new 90 amp alternator. Electronic ignition with new cap and rotor. New stainless electric antifreeze pump.. But wait, you want a testrone engine. I have a good running 2 cylinder yanmar with trans that goes with it.. i would rather have the atomic 4. It is quite. At idle you can't hear it running. No vibration.. I do have sound proofing. The only diesel advantage one quart an hour for the diesel, one gallon per hour for the gas.
The hard dodger is well designed but needs finishing. The decks could use coating. And the outside a light cleaning. The dingy does not leak air, has an aluminum bottom and large removable wheels on the rear. Outboard NOT included.
I can sell it myself, no help please. If you don't have cash or financing don't call. No trades. And no I will not sell the trailer or diesel engine separate.
No I will not deliver it for free. You will need a stout truck. The boat is close to 11000 lb and the trailer 3000. As you know boats are cheap. But you will not find one like this. You would be lucky if you found a trailer like this one for the price. I think fair market value on the yanmar would be close to $2000. Take this one home and make it Bristol over the winter. Take off for Alaska next mat.
