This bike is a 7-speed mountain bike with front suspension. I just replaced the grips because the old ones were worn out, but my kid mostly just rode on pavement so it wasn't ridden in rough environments and is still in great condition. Trek says that this bike is meant for kids 6-8 years old, 45"-52" tall. Mine kept riding it comfortably until about 9 years old and 54" tall. Overall, I think its a pretty good bike for a kid to ride out on the trails.
